parislemon: Twitter Keeps Right On Responding To Search+

parislemon:

Yesterday, Alexander Macgillivray, Twitter’s general counsel, wasted little time in speaking out against Google+ being fully baked into Google Search — even before Twitter officially did on the record. Today he’s elaborating a bit. Why doesn’t the ex-Google employee like Search+? This is why:

My thought is, if they’re trying to find WWE on Twitter, they’d search for WWE on Twitter. If you search for @WWE on Google, the Twitter result is the third result. I wonder if this is a result of Google downgrading the Twitter result, or if it’s an issue with the algorithm.

And, if we’re going to get our panties in a bunch, try searching for @WWE on Bing and see where the Twitter result surfaces. It isn’t even on page one. Suddenly, this doesn’t seem like a giant Google conspiracy anymore.

Edit: Search for WWE on the Twitter “@ Connect” and the first result is @WWETheBigShow, and the second result is @WWE. Twitter wants to bitch about search results not showing in the right order when they can’t even make it happen on their own site?
